Spring is coming in fast and we couldn’t be more excited, but there’s still time to sneak in a few epic snow days. Strap on your snowshoes and head to Cypress Mountain for these Adventures with Yervana Local Sofie.
Snowshoe to Bowen Lookout
Snowshoeing to Bowen Lookout on Cypress Mountain is the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy the crisp fresh air. The elevation will give you the chance to breathe deep, and the snowy track leads to one of the best views around Vancouver. There’s an incredible pay off to snowshoeing to this dreamlike spot, from the lookout you’ll gaze over peaceful Howe Sound toward Bowen Island.
The Adventure starts when you meet Sofie at the Cypress downhill ski area. You’ll need to dress warmly, and rent snowshoes in advance if you don’t have a pair (you can message Sofie for to help with this and other details.) The difficulty level of this snowshoe is a moderate, so be prepared for a light workout.
Snowshoe/Hike to the Cypress Mountain Hidden Cabins
There are dozens of fairytale-like old wooden log cabins scattered throughout the forest on Cypress Mountain — if you know where to look. Join Sofie for a hike (with snowshoes if necessary) to explore the area, discovering the cabins and stopping for photos and snacks along the way. These cabins are a dream for photographers and nature-lovers alike!
