PRODUCT MANAGER

Yervana’s team works remotely across BC, AB & Ontario, while the company is headquartered out of Vancouver. This job is open to applicants based in Canada.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Yervana is looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to join our team. This person will report to the Operations Manager and work closely with the technology team.

Our ideal candidate is an ambitious and energetic developer with proven experience who will join our collaborative, fast-paced team. You thrive on solving complex problems by breaking down each part to resolve with a team. Your keen interest in understanding business and technical challenges peaks your curiosity so you’re able to utilize different tech solutions to reach the teams goals. Overall you want a position with autonomy, responsibility, ownership, and ability to drive value as a key team member of the software development team.

In your role as Product Manager, your primary responsibility will be managing the product. Your initial role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Define the product roadmap
  • Create processes for and assist in gathering (i.e. working with UX to get interviews/surveys), managing (i.e. working with Tech within Jira), and prioritizing (i.e. creating documentation to discuss with the team. Also being ready to say “not right now”) market/customer requirements
  • Leverage data and evidence based insights to communicate decision making
  • Evaluate ideas and turn them into user stories, including functional, design, and testing requirements
  • Manage scope of improvements
  • Communicate cross-functionally across the organization
  • Research and understand other players in the tourism ecosystem
  • Ad-hoc projects based on previous experience and knowledge
  • Work within a highly cross-functional team, iterating on process and making your own suggestions for improvements
  • Ideate and suggest product improvements and features through a symbiotic relationship with Product and Business team
  • Understand Web Developer Framework markets, competition, and user requirements in depth.
  • Launch products and features, test their quality, and iterate quickly with the Yervana technology team.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, legal, UX, and other teams on advanced technologies.
  • Develop solutions to problems by collaborating as needed across product areas, and functions.
  • Lead and prioritize Yervana’s investments to foster healthy developer ecosystems around frameworks and measure/communicate this return on investment (ROI) back to executive leadership. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product management (i.e., Web Application Framework products and Open Source Collaborators, partners, and the web community).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, UX/UI, Program Management, etc.).
  • Experience driving elements of the product development lifecycle (e.g., product goals, go-to-market strategy, driving requirements).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction and working with Google Cloud or web infrastructure products.
  • Experience working with multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance or Marketing.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
