August 20th-26th

This annual fireworks festival illuminates the sky with a colliding orchestra of light and sound. This year features presentations by world-class pyromusical artists hailing from Ukraine, Spain, Philippines and China, culminating in GlobalFest’s own spectacular finale!

The lake at Elliston Park adds a special dimension to the festival – the reflections in the water create a fluid, shimmering mirror of the light show above. Lose yourself in the colours and rhythms of the display, while simultaneously being mesmerized by the cadence of the glittering explosions.

Barley Belt Tap Tour

August 26 (noon-6 pm)

Explore the Manchester and Highfield areas of Calgary as each brewery hosts a parking lot beer garden with their own personal flare.

Grab a Beer Passport to get the most out of the event experience. Thirty bucks gets you 1 beer per brewery (6 breweries in total) and $5 from every passport sale is donated to United Way of Calgary and Area. Passports are now on sale at each brewery. Individual pints are also available for $6 throughout the day, with food trucks on site!

Backwoods for Beginners

August 25 (9:30 am-3:30 pm)

Are you looking to take the next step in your camping experiences but not sure how, or where? Backwoods for Beginners is the adventure for you. On this 6 hr jam-packed experience, you will learn all the skills needed to expand your camping trips. Taking you well beyond car camping or front country campsites to the backcountry and a whole new outdoors to explore. The adventure will begin with gear and trip planning at the trailhead. 4 km round trip that includes multiple stops to practice the skills needed to be confident camping in the backcountry. The trip ends with a debrief and ideas for your next backcountry trip.

Harvest Dinner at Bow Valley Ranche

August 23 (6:00 pm)

Enjoy a live harvest in Fish Creek Park celebrating fresh garden-to-plate cuisine! Join executive chef Jenny Kang and her talented team for a celebration of locally-grown fresh ingredients from the Ranches’ backyard garden. The third annual Harvest Dinner presents this season’s best produce in mouthwatering farm-to-table dishes served family style in an intimate ambiance.
