We love summer in the Sea to Sky Corridor for all the amazing ways you can enjoy things outside, and this week it’s gonna be a hot one— highs of 27 degrees, perfect weather for getting out and exploring. To help you soak up the sun and enjoy the long summer nights, here’s a list of everything we want to do this week while the forecast is blue skies and sunlight!

Date Night— Hike the BCMC and Watch Sunset Over Drinks and Dinner

Head out after work while the days are long and tackle the BCMC! it’s a perfect 1-2 hour hike that you can do in the late afternoon or early evening, and reward yourself at the top of the mountain with an ice cold beer and yummy snack while you catch sunset from the top of Grouse Mountain.

Picnic at Third Beach

Did we mention it’s gonna be hot? Take advantage of the beach weather while you can! Yervana is all about soaking in the rays while you can, and there’s no better beach near Downtown Vancouver than Third! Pack your bathing suit and towel, and get in to work early so you can head out around 3 or 4 and bike up to Third Beach. Pack a picnic, invite your friends and chill out until dusk to enjoy a classic Vancouver summer night!

Paddleboard Around Lighthouse Park

If you’re from around Vancouver, most of us have hiked through Lighthouse Park at some point, but have you ever seen the lighthouse from the water? Summer is the best time to try paddleboarding around the area. This week we want to launch from the dock in Caulfeild Cove and paddle around the coastline to see the Lighthouse cliffs from a different point of view. You’ll get a work out for your arms while experiencing the immense relaxation of paddling gently through the waves of the Pacific. Plunge into the ocean if you dare for a refreshing swim!

Swim in Whyte Lake

This is another quick hike we love to do after work or on the weekend. Head over to West Vancouver and run or hike to Whyte Lake and chill out by the clear waters. In case you hadn’t heard, there’s a brand new dock at the lake, and the water is warm! Reward yourself with a refreshing swim after making your way there, while the sun is out. You won’t regret it.

Bicycle Brewery Hop

Beer lovers, mount up! Mount Pleasant is well known for its awesome breweries, and what goes better with summer than a brewery tour with your friends. Grab bike, and work up a thirst for some top “flight” breweries. A few of our favourites in Mount Pleasant are: 33 Acres, Brassneck, Main Street Brewing, Faculty Brewing, Red Truck and R&B.

Pro tip:  If you end your trip at R&B, save room for pizza!

Gastown Grand Prix

This Wednesday July 11th is the annual Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix bike race, where top class cyclists take over the historic streets of the area and put on an epic show. It’s open to the public, and free. If you biking over, you might want to lock up a block or so outside the area and walk. Head down with some friends to catch the festivities and enjoy the buzz of this classic fun summer event, stay in the area for amazing drinks and snacks after the Grand Prix is done.
