What is a Via Ferrata?
Have you heard of a Via Ferrata? This type of Adventure combines hiking and rock-climbing in the ultimate climb to the clouds. A via ferrata is a pathway of iron rungs fixed to the side of a mountain, allowing climbers to easily ascend the route while attached to a secure cable. They’re found around the world amongst numerous mountain ranges, and we’re lucky to have a collection across Canada, including on Mt. Stelfox near Nordegg, Alberta.
Safely guided by a certified and knowledgeable ACMG guide, this type of activity is accessible for a range of ages and experiences. This up and coming Adventure will get you hooked right away- for more than one reason.

Why Mt. Stelfox Via Ferrata?
Beating the crowds is part of the Yervana soul. We want to find the path less travelled, love it and preserve it. And the Mt. Stelfox Via Ferrata is a great way to do that. Instead of going to a popular tourist spot (such as Banff’s busy Mt. Norquay Via Ferrata), this Adventure will offer an off-the-beaten-path experience! By going with an experienced, personable guide (Paddy), you’ll fall in love with the Nordegg area in a way you never thought possible. Paddy will ensure the experience is personalized for your needs, with group sizes maxed out at 6 people.
“This is an excellent way to get introduced to the mountains, it’s a fairly entry-level mountain trip. You don’t really need any climbing experience to enjoy this, and we take really good care of you. It’s a really fun, compact day.” – Yervana Local, Paddy
