While Revelstoke mountain is a huge draw for skiers and snowboarders, the area offers a variety of options for all types of outdoor adventuring. Read on for our favourite unique adventures to try in Revelstoke this winter!

Things to See

Revelstoke is a quaint mountain town with lots of history, art, and outdoor adventure not to miss! For the moments when you’re not hitting the ski hill, here are a few other local attractions to check out.

Nels Nelson ski jump

The Nels Nelsen Hill was the first permanent ski jump in Canada! It was in use from 1916 – 1975, now this ski jumping hill is a must see historic sight in Revelstoke.

Art Alleries

You read that right – Revelstoke has transformed the alleyways into outdoor art galleries, hence the name ‘alleries’! Make sure to stop by to check out the beautiful art on display in the alleyways between Connaught and Mackenzie Ave in Downtown Revelstoke.

Moses Creek Falls

This relatively short hike (0.8km) through a whimsical rainforest leads to a stunning waterfall. If you’re looking to get outdoors, this hike comes highly recommended due to it’s accessibility and jaw dropping views! To get there head to Westside Road and park in the marked parking lot, from there walk down to the gravel road to the riverside where the forested trail to the falls begins.

While Revelstoke is a mecca of outdoor adventure, there’s plenty to fill your time in between exploring. If you want to get whisked away from the tourist hot spots and experience the true magic of Revelstoke, head out with a Yervana Local. Ski the Backcountry

Get off-piste and explore acres of untouched terrain with a Yervana Local who knows the area well. Nestled between the Selkirk and the Monashee mountain range, Revelstoke offers wide range of conditions and plenty of fresh tracks in the backcountry! Connect with Yervana Local Konrad for an epic day riding the backcountry!

Avalanche Skills Training

Looking to venture into the backcountry all season long? Take a 2-day Avalanche Skills Training (AST) course to gain a solid foundation of avalanche knowledge, how to use Avalanche safety equipment, and the ability to pull it all together make smart decisions in the backcountry!

Snowshoe

Take a break from slopes to explore on snowshoes! Revelstoke has some incredible trails to embark on – all with breathtaking views of the mountain ranges. Mount Revelstoke National Park offers a range of trails suitable for all explorers! Hit up the Inspiration Woods Trail for a quick 2.5km loop or extend your hike with the 5km Soren Sorensen loop!

Another local favourite is the trail to Sutherland Falls. Take in the majestic beauty of the falls after the 2.5km hike! The trailhead is located 23km south of Revelstoke on Highway 23 towards Blanket Creek Provincial Park.

A visit to Revelstoke would be a miss without a stop at the Begbie Brewing Co! Begbie.

How to Get There

Revelstoke is easily accessed by the Trans Canada Highway. Nestled between the Selkirk and Monashee mountains Revelstoke is neither too remote nor too accessible, part of the adventure is the trip into town!

By Road

Getting to Revelstoke from the east takes you through the dramatic peaks of Roger’s Pass on Highway #1. Coming from the west, you pass through the scenic Okanagan Valley.

By Air

You’ll want to book your flight into the Kelowna airport, once you arrive if you aren’t planning to rent a car you can catch the Stoke Shuttle. The shuttle runs multiple daily bus transfers from Kelowna International Airport to Revelstoke.

By Bus

Catch the Rider Express bus for transportation between Vancouver to Calgary daily via Revelstoke.
