Whether you’re planning to hike for a few hours or heading into an epic full day bike ride, you’ll need to fuel up before you hit the trail. Fresh pressed juices and protein packed smoothies are a great way to give you an energy boost before you start the day. There’s tons of juice bars in Vancouver which can make it hard to know where to start your juice journey, so here’s 9 of our favourites to get you started!

Body Energy Club

Okay, we’re not going to lie, we stop in here 4-5 days a week. Body Energy Club might feel a bit like a juice monkey heaven, but trust us, their smoothies and açai bowls are addictive!

They also make healthy pre-packed meals, wraps and snacks— fill your backpack with healthy treats before you hit the trail, and enjoy them when you reach the lookout. Our favourite is Blueberry Almond Acai (double blended of course.)

Nectar Juicery

As a Vancouverite, it’s basically a given that you like cold pressed juice. Nectar has made a name for themselves locally with their range of delicious organic cold pressed juices, and you can find them in Mount Pleasant, Gastown, and a mobile cart in Downtown Vancouver. Bonus points: their juice names are designed to inspire— who wouldn’t want to drink a bottle of “Courage” or “Motivation” before trekking out into the wild?

Glory Juice Co.

Glory Juice is another great organic smoothie and cold-pressed juice company, and you can find one near you with locations in Kitsilano, Olympic Village, Yaletown, North Vancouver, and Coal Harbour. Every juice has up to 3 lbs of organic produce in each bottle, so you can feel good before heading out on your adventures. They also make healthy salads, açai bowls and hearty glory bowls to take with you on your hike.

Hey Kokomo

Yervana is a local company, and we want  to support other local companies. Hey Kokomo is close to our hearts as one of the cutest little health spots you can find in Vancouver. They have two small locations: one in Kitsilano and the other sitting at the edge of Chinatown near Strathcona. The delightfully simple and bright decor will automatically lift your spirits. Whether you want a healthy bowl, açai bowl, smoothie, fresh juice or kombucha, Hey Kokomo has a little something for everyone.

MELU Juice and Health Bar

If you haven’t heard of it, MELU is as fresh as their juice! Feed your health food addiction by trying their creative cold-pressed creations, vegan nut mylks, superfood smoothies, or nourishing menu items. Located on West Pender in Downtown Vancouver, MELU also has convenient to-go items to get your body ready for the day.

The Juice Truck

Starting life as a mobile juice dispenser, The Juice Truck now has several cafe locations in Steveston, Mount Pleasant and Yaletown. They are basically health on wheels! You can find the original Juice Truck in Gastown, and the newer smoothie cart downtown.

Known famously as the first cold-pressed juice innovators in town, you can find their refreshing and hydrating creations in retail locations across the Lower Mainland.

Aphrodite’s Market and Juice Bar

Aphrodite’s Cafe, nestled in the heart of Kitsilano, is one of the longest running health and nutrition-focused restaurants in the city, and they’ve added an adorable market and juice bar to the restaurant! They may be the new kid on the block when it comes to juice, but when it comes to fresh, local, and organic ingredients, Aphrodite’s always delivers.

Radicle Juice

A Mountain Pleasant mainstay, Radicle Juice offers fresh pressed juices, shots of “heat” (ginger, lemon, and apple) and delicious smoothies with great names (have fun ordering a Pool Boy, a Smooth Operator, or a Knockout!) Their menu also features tasty açai bowls if you want to grab a snack to accompany your liquid treat.

The Green Moustache

If you’re on your way out of town and headed towards Whistler, Squamish, Port Moody or North Vancouver, drop in at the Green Moustache for delightful cold-pressed juices. Their juices and smoothies are known all over BC!

Hydration is important! Remember to always drink plenty of fluids when you’re doing any kind of outdoor activity (especially if its hot out and you know you’ll be out for several hours.) In addition to great coffee and juice, don’t forget to bring lots of water with you!
